Spike Keil is a Community Affairs Specialist with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), based in San Francisco. In his role with the Community Affairs Branch, he advances FDIC initiatives focused on economic inclusion, community development, financial health, small business support, and promoting awareness and compliance with the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). He builds collaborative partnerships among financial institutions, community-based organizations, local governments, and underserved communities to bring community-focused projects to life.
Mr. Keil joined the FDIC in May 2011. Prior to that, he served in the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research under the Brown and Schwarzenegger administrations as a Program Specialist. There, he played a central role in managing the statewide Bank on California initiative—overseeing communications, outreach strategies, data analysis, and the development of impact-driven partnerships. He also collaborated with the California Office of the Small Business Advocate to expand access to capital and strengthen technical assistance networks for small businesses.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Sacramento.
