Formerly known as the Community Heroes Student Loan Assistance Award, the Impact Makers Financial Support Award reflects TCU Foundation’s expanded commitment to supporting individuals whose work and contributions positively impact their communities.
The TCU Foundation will award up to four $5,000 grants to help reduce qualifying personal financial debt for Impact Makers—individuals making a meaningful contribution to their local community through professional roles, volunteer efforts, or community leadership.

Eligibility + Disclaimers
- Residents of Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, or Yolo counties.
- A student loan, medical debt, or other qualifying personal debt balance of $5,000 or more.
- The program does not provide assistance for mortgages, auto loans or personal credit card debt.
- Ability to document notable community service contributions through professional or volunteer activities.
- Recipients of the Travis Credit Union Foundation Impact Makers Award will receive a financial award of $5,000. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state tax authorities may consider this award taxable income. It is the recipient's responsibility to determine any tax obligations that may arise from accepting this award. Travis Credit Union Foundation does not provide tax advice, and recipients are encouraged to consult with a qualified tax professional to understand their individual tax responsibilities.
