Damian Alarcon serves as the Director of Government Relations and Social Impact at the Travis Credit Union.
Previously, Damian worked with Representative George Miller (Chairman of the House Education Committee) for more than 4 years where he specialized in immigration, LGBT, and environmental issues and was responsible for bi-lingual outreach in the district for the cities of Richmond, Concord, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Antioch, and San Pablo. While there, he coordinated events that connected local non-profits, federal agencies and community leaders by orchestrating forums, special events and town hall meetings.
Previous to his work with the Congressional representatives, Damian was a reading/language arts instructor for the Bambini Education Center in Seoul, Korea where he produced lesson plans for elementary school children and managed other instructors. Damian earned his Bachelor’s in Sociology at University of California Santa Barbara. Damian is part of the planning committees for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and United Latino Voices Student Conference. He also serves as a mentor for the Puente Project at Contra Costa Community College.
